Originally, the area was settled as farmland. As a residential neighbourhood, Wexford-Maryvale’s history is deeply rooted in Toronto’s post-war expansion. In the 1950s and 1960s, it was one of the early parts of Scarborough to be developed to accommodate the growing families of returning soldiers.
