Living In Toronto: Want to know which waste bin it should go in? Check out the Waste Wizard

Ever find yourself confused about what goes in the recycling bin and what goes in the garbage bin?  If so you need to check out this handy tool called the Waste Wizard from the City of Toronto’s website.  All you have to do is type the item you want to know about in the ‘where does it go’ area and then it tells you where to put it.  Seriously handy!

Where does  go?

Please place this item in your Blue Bin. If appropriate, please empty and rinse this item. All recycling should fit in your Blue Bin with the lid closed. If you have extra recycling, please keep materials until your next Blue Bin collection. Occasionally you can place extra recycling in clear plastic bags beside the full blue bin. If you wish to exchange your Blue Bin for a larger size (at no cost), please call 311.

Molded paper [Paper egg carton]

Please place this item in your Blue Bin. If appropriate, please empty and rinse this item. All recycling should fit in your Blue Bin with the lid closed. Plastic food container [Egg carton]

Please place this item in your Blue Bin. If appropriate, please empty and rinse this item. Containers with black bottoms or tops are not accepted. All recycling should fit in your Blue Bin with the lid closed. If you have extra recycling, please keep materials until your next Blue Bin collection.
