Neighbourhood Spotlight: Christmas Time in the Distillery District

Looking for a way to get yourself into the Christmas spirit?  Then head down to the Distillery District between December 2nd and 18th and take in the sight and sounds of their charm of the Christmas Market.  Inspired by the Christmas Markets of the Old World (originating in Germany in the early 1400s) this one is full of unique local events and features including; a 45 foot White Spruce tree decorated with 18,000 lights and ornaments, carolers, brass band, concerts, children's choirs, ferris wheel, reindeer zoo, fairy tale forest maze, Santa's Elves workshop, and (of course) a variety of beers and mulled wine and hot rum beverages.

The official opening ceremony for this year's Toronto Christmas Market is on Friday December 2nd at 6:00pm.  Check out this link for a full list of scheduled events.
