Looking for a safe place to go for a swim this summer. Turns out that there are a number of beaches acrossToronto and recently 8 of them have received the Blue Flag Designation from an organization called Environmental Defense. In order to qualify for the designation the beaches must meet strict international standards for cleanliness and environmental management. The Blue Flag beaches in Toronto are: Bluffer's Beach,Kew-Balmy Beach, Woodbine Beach, Cherry Beach, Ward's Island Beach, Centre Island Beach, Gibraltar Point Beach, and Hanlan's Point Beach.
