I was thinking about purchasing an outdoor dog house for my lovely basset hound this year; mainly for those warm summer months when she so desperately wants to be in the backyard when her people are out there. It turns out that my particular basset is quite weather sensitive, she doesn’t like it too cold (in which case she just turns around and heads back inside) or too hot (in which case she just hits the ground and won’t move once she gets outside-especially in the sun!). As my searching progressed I quickly became aware that I was, perhaps, not putting enough consideration into where my precious Maggie would be spending her lazy summer afternoons! Check out the collection of luxury (if not over-the-top!) dog-houses (and accoutrements) that you might want to consider for your own best friend.

Once you’ve decided which one fits your pet the best, don’t forget that comfort is really what is all about! Why not a pool, or air conditioner/heater for fido!
