  1. Get your credit in order.  Obtain a copy of your credit score and make sure it is right.  If there are any mistakes, get them fixed!
  2.   3. Calculate the costs of  home-ownership.  This list should include costs such as; property taxes, insurance, maintenance, utilities, and condo fees.

  5. Select the neighbourhoods that you might like to live in.
